Taupok!

Went back to camp after my birthday break. Was pretty touched when the guys surprised me with a birthday cake while I was giving mounting brief. Colin came out with a chocolate walnut cake with 2 long lit candles on it. Everyone started singing me a birthday song. Thanks guys. And soon the whole company knew it was my birthday. Everyone came to wish me a happy birthday. Thanks guys. You made my birthday really memorable.

At nite, we had hot plate in camp. Everyone bought their fair share of food. 2ltJunrong and 2ltJingMing came to join in the fun. They brought pizzas for everyone! The food was really good. Everyone put their culinary skills to the test and tasted our own creations of weird food hahaha. And soon the time came. They pulled me into the bunk and gave me my birthday taupok. So bloody ruthless man! First taupok. Then they held my hands and legs down and threw ice cubes into my pants and shirt! Damn was it cold! But it was memorable larh. My very first taupok in camp. Normally the guys wouldnt dare to taupok me but this time I sort of let them have their way larh! hahha dun spoil sport..

Well just finished the heats for Fleet track meet. Qualified for 100m finals and 4x100m finals. Got 3rd for triple jump *Yay*. I swear I must beat that damn captain. He freaking made the team manager take my friend out so that he can run man. What the hell. He thinks he is so damn good. He ran around 29s for 200m. K larh he trashed most of the guys but he's gonna get hell form me. I'm making sure he doesnt get into the 4x100m team. Worst still he kept staring at me when i train and warmup for my races like as though he has sth against me. Maybe its just me. But boy he's gonna get it real bad!

I'm Back..

Well, Its been a long long time since I've updated.

Had class gathering at Johnny's place. Met up with Dan and Johnny before heading to the Aussie Uni open house and gathered some uni stuff. I must say getting into a good uni in Aussie ain't easy. Look at my grades, its totally crap larh. My cockster friend who ain't really good at studying went to England to have his A'Levels scored straight As larh and got into Medicine. He told me their A'levels standard is way lower than Spore and what they studied at A'levels is much almost the same as O'levels. No wonder he did so well. So did my other friend who went with him. If only I did the same thing. Maybe my life would be much different now, doing the course I want. Like I said I've been pretty "suay" when it comes to my education and getting what I want no matter how much effort I put into them. But I perservere and thats what's important. Cos i like to proof people and god wrong. Food at Johnny's house was great. Lots of alcohol to drown my sorrows hahaha. The guys even surprised me with an early Birthday cake! Thanks guys really appreciate it.

Had 7km run. Got third placing overall. My timing of 27.34mins wasn't too bad. I'm quite satisfied with it. I must say I gave my 100% effort, but still lost to deroose. That nutcase is seriously damn fast larh. He finished 1min and 30s infront of me. No matter how much i pushed, he pushed more. And i must say it was indeed a good race.

Saikang gets more and more these day. Especially with the new CO, lots of changes are going to happen. And boy many ain't gonna like it. Been trying to keep myself busy with all these saikang to keep my mind off an issue. Its working but not for long. Oh wells...

Hmmmm should i take part in Navy Biathlon 2007?

Not Just Another Day In Camp...

1) Stretching
2) Spider pushups x12
3) Normal pushups x 12
4) Diamond pushups x12
5) 6 wide pull ups
6) 6 closegrip pull ups
7) 4 normal pull ups + 2 pulls which we had to pause half way b4 going fully up
8) 3 normal pull ups + 3 pulls which we had to pause half way b4 going fully up
9) 20 situps
10) 20 crunches
11) 12 half crunch to the right
12) 12 half crunch to the left
13) Flutter kicks 20 counts of 4
14) Half an hour of slow jog
15) Warm down

Mind you guys there was no rest in between all the workouts and it was Cat2 and raining heavily. Imagine how tough that was. Well all i can say is we expect more hell to come. Well thats what you have when you have a CO who is NDU trained. Worst still he is a US Navy Seal. He even said during warm down that sea people will have tougher training. We will have to learn lifeguard skills and learn how to swim and swim and swim and swim till we puke. Madness. Training will be tough I reckon, but it will be fun. Sadistic for me to say this but yeah I like very tough and challenging workouts.

Screwed the guys for being late then settled lots of admin stuff. Made the guys cleaned their bunks which was in a totally horrendous state. Did this and that and this and that. Lots of stuff and shit to do. But what the hell larh. And so here I am at home. Feeling really bored. Dunnoe what to do. Decided to slack at home. Been wanting to check my pay but got hindered by the stupid rain. Heard the 3SG pay's in. Hopefully they didn't smoke me.

I need to borrow a pair of spikes!
Trackkers anyone?

New Year 2007

Happy New Year to All.

New year eve was spent in camp. Which only meant one thing. I crossed over to the new year in camp. It was indeed a new experience rather than going out with the usual friends and family members to sentosa to countdown. During the last few seconds of 2006, YewMun was on the phone with his girlfriend and was telling us how many seconds more to countdown. When the clock struck 12MN, the most amazing thing happened. All the ships out in the sea fired flares up into the sky. The most facinating thing is that the flares were fired all at the same time, so synchronised. At the same time, SAF Yatch club went up in bright sparks and flames. It literally lit up the whole area. All the yatches, were all "on flames" not literally of course. The sky too was lit with fireworks from Suntec area and Batam. Only one word to describe the moment-BEAUTIFUL. The only person who actually slept through the new year was Jeremy. Thus in order to punish him we decided to do something illegal. Upon the count on 3, we rushed into the bunk and shouted like mad dogs before one by one everyone pounced on him. Till the last person was on Jeremy, everyone just said "HAPPY NEW YEAR JEREMY!" hahahaha. Hows that from the usual taupok Jeremy!

After booking out, I went out with my BMT mates. Headed to Fish and Co for some high class sea food. Food was good and cheap. Ordered lots of stuff and shared among all of us so that we could have different variety of food. Paid about 20 bucks in the end. Not too bad. Walked around and took some pictures after that. Its really been a long time since I met these guys. All of em are posted to units all around Singapore. Yannicks-field engineer, Chris-SAF band, Heng and Darren- 3SG and 2Sg in 3SIR, WanNok-3SG in Guards, Qiling-signaller in Airforce and me-3Sg SeaSoldier. For the rest who didnt go, ZhongYan-3SG armour, Nigel and Josh-3SGs CBRE, ZhengJie-Pilot, Benjamin-6SIRand Kaiyang-3SG 6SIR. All of us went to units all over Singapore. But we came from the one and only one 06/01 Orion Platoon 1 Section2.

New Year celebrations were great. But it lacked something. I guess only I know what it is.

Well my New Year 2007 Resolutions.
1) Finish studying "A" level chem and start on Uni Chem.
2) Get my driving and powerboat licence.
3) Complete a Marathon in 5 hrs without stopping.
4) Save $$$.

Well, I've been testing out my new shoes and getting used to it. I must say it felt weird at the start but damn its so comfy. With this pair of shoes, I will make my 3rd new year resolution come true. Ran about 20km with it already. I must say this pair of shoes is really worth my money. Good buy! But damn I guess i must cut down on doing weight. I gained 400g from one week of doing weights larh! I must get lighter to run faster.

Oh a Navy track and field meet came up. Haiz I couldn't resist the temptation. I signed up for 100m and 200m. Looking at the registration form really brought back lots of memories from my track days in SJI. All though I didn't get to run in competitions much due to SJI having too many top athletes, but it was indeed an enjoyable experience and time running with them. Still remember the first time I went for training, warm up was like 2.4km! I almost couldn't take it. Than came sprints, hurdles macdonald's run and Coach Russel from Australia with his track camp. Wonderful times. Then education time with Mr Rainer Paul, now head coach of Singapore Sports School. Thats where I learnt alot about running. Runnning and sprinting isnt that simple itself. Theres lots to focus on like your technique. How high you lift your leg, bending your body forward, proper stretching make a difference to your run. I even learnt the various type of stretching- basic, calistenic (dunnoe if its spelt correctly) and dynamics. It was indeed a learning experience. And of cos the time we laugh and cry during competitions. And the most importantly the friendships forged. People like Phang, Justin, Nonis, Vicki, KeatLoon, Salman, Boon, ChunXiang, Murali, Hakeem and who can forget Krishnan and many more made life in track memorable.

Lots to reflect for the New Year I guess.
