Wet day in camp...

Yes its gonna be a wet wet wet New Year they say. So gym it was since it was Cat1. And of course who could resist stepping on the weighing scale. Yeap. Lost weight AGAIN! Now I'm 66.6kg. Lost another 1kg. Must be due to the intensive 10km runs I've been doing. Every 10km I ran, I took down the timings. Here they are...

1st 10km 43.08mins
2nd 10km 41.08mins
3rd 10km 42.o8mins
4th 10km 41.08mins
5th 10km 40.01mins

Not bad for starters I guess.

Oh back to gym session. Started with a 2.4km run on the treadmill. Another shocking yet happy encounter. I ran 2.4km in 10.20mins. And it was at a rather relaxed pace. After which it was weights weights weights and more weights for the next 45mins. Did a few crunches and pushups and ended the session with stretching.

Its amazing how I could smoke through the gym guys with a T-shirt and said that was my towel. Oh wells.

Went back to bunk. Showered and MUG! Yeah I re-studied my Chemistry. Since I'm going to take Chemistry in NTU might as well do a little revision first. Then studied a little basic theory. Yes basic theory. I thought since I could drive a boat, its time to learn to drive something much more practical to use - CAR.

Settled some admin stuff before heading home. I've got my card! Which means more "sai-kang" to do. But what the heck. It'll be interesting...

SHOPPING later...

Christmas Eve...

Went out with the class on Christmas Eve to have lunch. From 12 people attendence, it slowly dropped to 7. Luckily for the prescence of Yee Kiat, who made up the numbers. Went to Sizzler for lunch. Had some apricot sauce filled chicken; and half a steak and ribs which I shared with Daniel. Then off we were for the free flow of salad at the salad bar. The food was great.

Headed off to Orchard afterwards. Some of us just walked around. We paid a visit to Amelia who's working at DFS selling tea. Yeah. Met up with Yvonne and walked around more. Afterwhich I left for dinner with my uncle and some of my cousins. And again gorge myself with more food. Think I gain back the 1kg I just lost. Oh wells. What the heck larh.

Another sad sad Christmas for me...

Fast and Furious Hokkien Drift

Saw this on youtube. Funny.

Nativity...

Went out yesterday with my aunt's family for dinner. Well she sort of guessed that me and my sis were bored at home so she invited us out for dinner yeah. Had lots to eat. But felt really bad to make em spend so much cash on us.

Caught the movie Nativity. My aunt said watching the movie might get us into the Christmas spirit. Oh well. The movie was enriching. Learnt lots of stuff from the movie. You'd be surprise the no. of people who caught the show. Though its like slightly more than 10, but hey, its Toa Payoh movie theatre. 10 movie goers's considered alot for 'em. I'm still quite surprised they're surviving after so many years. Yeahh. Well next time if any movie premier tickets is sold out. COME TO TOA PAYOH CINEMA. You'd get house seats here I tell ya.

Well basically, its more or less an unproductive leave. Did nothing much except settle admin stuff for deployment. So much to do. What sort of leave is spent doing work! Haiz. Come to think of it, everytime I book out, I'd just stay at home. Do nothing. At most go for a jog around the estate. Besides that just sit in front of the com and stone. Unlike the past. Haiz. Feeling rather low now...

Right here waiting for you - Richard Marx

Ocean's apart day after day
And I slowly go insane
I hear your voice on the line
But it doesn't stop the pain
If I see you next to never
How can we say forever

Wherever you go
Whatever you do
I will be right here waiting for you
Whatever it takes
Or how my heart breaks
I will be right here waiting for you

I took for granted, all the times
That I thought would last somehow
I hear the laughter, I taste the tears
But I can't get near you now
Oh, can't you see it baby
You've got me going crazy

Repeat chorus

I wonder how we can survive
This romance
But in the end if I'm with you
I'll take the chance
Oh, can't you see it baby
You've got me going crazy

Repeat chorus

-A song...

Rigid Hull Inflatable Boat (RHIBS) Course...

I went for RHIBS Course!
I Passed!
I am a CERTIFIED coxswain!
WOOO HOOO!
Vrooooom Vrooooom!

Quite weird.
I learn to drive a boat before learning how to drive a car!
I went for practical first before even passing my basic theory for rules of the sea.

WHAT THE HECK!
The first motor "vehicle" I can drive!

Bad news
I'm sunburnt!

Goodnews
I'm on leave. DATE ME!

Officially a 3rd Sergeant...

Finally on Tuesday, I'm officially a 3rd Sergeant. SWO broke the GOOD news to us. After a hard fought battle with Mindef. We are officially recognised as 3rd Sergeants specialised in POI. NO LOCAL PROMOTION at all for those already coporals or lance coporals! Hmmmm been thinking if SISPEC stands for School of Infantry Specialist, than CNTB should be named School of Protection of Installation Specialist SPIS. Hahahaha.. what the heck!

Went back to CNB later on to unpack some of my stuff. Then headed to Army Market to get my rank sew on my No. 4 and No.3 damn cost me 20bucks. What a freaking rip off larh! Could have gotten it done cheaper at camp but the auntie ain't around.

The next 2 days were off given by SWO. Took this time to seriously rest. I fell sick with slight fever. Lucky it was after the course. Went back to camp on friday. Did some admin stuff. Jordan Hanwei and Wesley weren't around so I took charge. Went to stadium to do some supporting and managed to pui4 with 2ic to let us off early. The match ended at 1020 larh! So we left at 11. Goodie! Get to catch up on sleep and rest.

Was suppose to go back camp today for activation but all thanks to Plt3 which had full strength, I secured another weekend!

Carl Lewis's in town. Make me reminisce on my past track life. Really missed it. The training, races, SJI, smell of deepheat, all sorts of spike shoes and of course the feeling of racing. Haiz... Oh wells its the past. No more of it to come I guess. The love for it sort of died out in JC. Now my new love - extreme sports. 5km, 10km, half marathon, marathon, biathalon, triathalon, aquathlon here I come. Though can't deny there's a little running in all of it. I still love running.

Anyone to join me on my extreme sports?

Christmas's is coming. Need a pair of new running shoes. I'm a size 10. Flat footer. Preferbly Mizuno or Asics. Any takers to buy me a pair?
